물리학 — Frequently Asked Questions
이 계산기의 산출 결과는 정확한가요? (1)
The International System of Units (SI) is the standard: meters for length, kilograms for mass, seconds for time, newtons for force, joules for energy, and watts for power. Our calculators accept SI inputs by default and can convert to imperial units (feet, pounds, miles per hour) when needed. Always ensure all values use consistent units before calculating.

Projectile motion combines horizontal motion at constant velocity with vertical motion under gravity. Given initial velocity (v₀), launch angle (θ), and height (h), our calculator computes: range = v₀²sin(2θ)/g, maximum height = v₀²sin²(θ)/(2g), time of flight = 2v₀sin(θ)/g (for level ground). Air resistance is neglected in the basic model but can be added for advanced analysis.
What is the difference between mass and weight in physics?
Mass is an intrinsic property measuring the amount of matter (scalar, in kilograms), constant everywhere. Weight is the gravitational force acting on that mass (vector, in newtons): W = mg, where g ≈ 9.81 m/s² on Earth's surface. On the Moon (g ≈ 1.62 m/s²), a 70 kg person still has 70 kg mass but weighs only 113 N instead of 687 N on Earth.
How does E=mc² work in the energy-mass equivalence calculator?
Einstein's equation E = mc² shows that mass and energy are interchangeable. With c = 299,792,458 m/s, even tiny amounts of mass contain enormous energy: 1 kg of matter equals approximately 8.99 × 10¹⁶ joules — roughly the energy released by 21.5 megatons of TNT. Our calculator lets you explore this equivalence for any mass value.

Our current physics calculators focus on classical (Newtonian) mechanics, which is accurate for everyday speeds much less than the speed of light. For objects moving above ~10% of light speed, relativistic effects (time dilation, length contraction, mass increase) become significant. We are planning to add special relativity calculators in a future update.
