Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do CSV quotation marks work?

A field containing a delimiter or line break is enclosed in double quotes. Two quotation marks inside that field represent one literal quote. For example, "He said ""hello""" becomes He said "hello".

Are CSV numbers and identifiers preserved?

Simple numeric values and true/false are inferred as JSON numbers and booleans. Leading-zero identifiers such as 00123 and integers beyond the safe JavaScript range remain strings. Decimal values still follow JavaScript number precision.

What shape must JSON have?

Use an object or an array of objects. Output columns come from the union of object keys; missing and null values become empty cells. Nested objects are serialized as JSON text inside a cell.

What happens to malformed rows?

Unclosed quoted fields, duplicate headers and rows with a different field count return a parsing error rather than silently dropping data.
